Tools for efficient risk assessment- Google NotebookLM -Wow!
I've been blown away with the Notebook lm a free site that Google offers. As Q&FS professionals we often are dealing with complex journal publications, regulations , risk assessments as we are looking to understand, make meaning of and educate our stakeholders. The platform allows you to upload sources such as youtube videos, links to web pages or attach documents ( up to 50 sources).
Once you've uploaded your sources you can generate timelines, summaries of the topic and even generate a podcast via AI interpreting the material and having 2 presenters play it back in a very engaging way. It also has a chat function that allows you to ask questions from the sources you provide.
I used it in helping me get my head around the challenges of recycled polyolefins for food contact use in packaging.
Why am I passionate about this..... any efficiency tools that can focus on technically correct information is a value add for our people. Today, I believe we are at risk of Q&FS employees engaging with AI and generative AI which is very good and powerful but also subject to error that in our responsibility can be very dangerous. We need to provide useful rules of engaging with AI and generative AI that could help navigate this. It will be used either way, whether at work or at home on personal PC's. I'd be interested in others experiences with tools or productive application of technology in risk assessment.
