About the Speakers

Marion Frenz - Independent Researcher

Marion Frenz holds a PhD in Management from the University of London. She teaches and researches in the field of innovation studies, with particular focus on innovation in micro businesses, adoption of generative AI tools, absorptive capacity concept and measurement, the impact of the financial crisis on business innovation, and the role of quality and safety standards in performance.

Ray Lambert - Independent Researcher

Prior to independent research, Ray was a Government Economist with specialisation in the measurement and impacts of business innovation, with particular reference to some of the institutions and knowledge sources that form parts of the UK innovation system, such as Standards and Accreditation, the National Measurement System and the Design Council

Alec Kyriakides - Independent Food Safety Consultant

Alec Kyriakides is an independent food safety consultant with nearly 40 years experience in the industry, spending 28 years managing technical operations at the retailer Sainsbury’s, prior to which he worked in food manufacturing. He is the co-author of books on the practical control of food borne pathogens and is currently a Non Executive Board Director of Campden BRI, a Board Trustee of the IFST, a Visiting Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast and former Chair of the BRCGS International Advisory Board.
