Western Mixers Produce & Nuts Inc. of Ontario withdraws yoghurt-covered pretzels from sale due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The bacteria was discovered as a result of a routine sampling program by the source supplier of the yoghurt coating. Western Mixers Produce & Nuts Inc. has stopped the production and distribution of the product while investigations into the cause of contamination continue.

Thorp Fruit, Down Home Goods, Smart & Final and Gelson’s retail stores across California had distributed the yoghurt-covered pretzels.

Recalled yoghurt-covered pretzels products:

  • Smart & Final, First Street Brand; plastic containers, 6 oz& 15 oz.
    Product Lot #: 241091, 241161, 241241
  • Gelson’s, Gelson’s Brand; plastic containers, 15 oz.
    Product Lot #: 241062
  • Down Home Goods; Sold as bulk, 14 lb.
    Product Lot #: 241010 Thorp Fruit, Sold as bulk, 14 lb. Product Lot #: 241010
